Welcome to Stafford Public Schools!

Located in Stafford Springs Connecticut!

 

We are excited to welcome new families to our school community.  

All registrations are processed through Stafford School Offices.

 

 

 

Stafford Public Schools requires the following required documents to be uploaded through the online registration form.

  • Proof of Age – copy of birth certificate, immunization records, or Physician’s certificate verifying a student’s age
  • Proof of Residency – copy of lease or mortgage statement
  • Parent/Guardian Photo ID - driver’s license or passport
  • Most recent physical with immunization record

 

Stafford Public Schools Registration is also required for the following:

  1. Students who reside in Stafford and attend a magnet, technical, or Vo-Ag school.
  2. Students who are returning to Stafford (from a magnet or technical school, or out of state/country).
  3. Students receiving Home Instruction should complete the Notice of Intent to Educate a Child at Home - Unassisted Form annually. Submit the completed form to the main office of your child's school. Board of Education's Home Instruction Policy #6172.3 is available for your convenience.

     West Stafford School is located in Stafford Springs, Connecticut

    We are excited to welcome our 2026-2027 Pre-Kindergarten class! Your child is about to take an exciting first step in their education. We are looking forward to the beginning of a collaborative partnership between home and school. In order to provide a successful transition for both your child and your family. Our Pre-K and Kindergarten Early Childhood Programs are accredited by the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and meets the standards set by NAEYC for exemplary early childhood programs.

    All children who reside in the Town of Stafford and turn 3 and 4 on or before September 1, 2026 are eligible to apply. (Students must turn 3 prior to their start of school). Priority slots are given to 4-year-old students who turn 4 by September 1, 2026. 3-year-old slots are filled in order of birth date.

    Children who are currently enrolled in Stafford Public Schools' Pre-K program do not need to be re-registered.

    Current Program Hours:

    • AM Pre-K: 8:30 am - 11:15 am
    • PM Pre-K: 12:15 pm - 3:00 pm
    • Full Day Pre-K: 8:30 am - 3:00 pm

    *The district does not provide mid-day busing for Pre-K students


    Current Tuition & Sliding Scale Fees:

    The district charges a family fee for the Pre-Kindergarten program. We follow the OEC Family-Fees Schedule and accept Care for Kids. All families are required to submit a financial documentation to determine their family fee.

    4 most recent pay stubs for all working adults in the home to determine your actual family fee.

    Tuition rates for the 2026-2027 have not yet been determined. 2025-2026 rates were as follows:

    • Up to $225/month for half day
    • Up to $450/month for full day

    *The district offers a 50% discount for active military families with documentation


    PowerSchool Registration:

    First, gather all documentation needed for registration. You will upload the necessary documents  prior to submitting the registration. Once you have uploaded the documentation, and submitted the registration forms, a staff member will contact you to set an appointment for a screening.

    Registration Documents:

      • a notarized residency affidavit accompanied by a current utility bill or a valid driver's license, car registration, and copy of personal property tax bill for the car from the Town of Stafford.

    • Financials: Page 1 of Federal 1040: Tax Year 2025 or W2’s for all working adults in the home

    • Custody Alert with Court Order, if applicable

  • ParentSquare Information Page: The District of Stafford Public Schools manages electronic communications and notifications with our school's community via ParentSquare. This system is used to notify the community of school closings/delays, emergencies, alerts, and other general notifications through phone calls, emails, and texts.

  • The Federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act provides special legal protections for children and youth experiencing homelessness, including homeless “unaccompanied youth” who are not in the custody of a parent or guardian. Children experiencing homelessness or displacement have a right to enroll in school even if their families cannot produce enrollment documentation. Assistance is available at the time of registration.
