Information Technology

  • What does 1:1 mean?
Simply put, 1:1 device program means that a school or district has provided one device to all students. More schools than ever before are investing in new devices to make instruction possible in new environments and to continue to enhance learning.1

Stafford Public Schools is dedicated to the continual use of technology to improve each student's experience. Stafford Public Schools has adopted a 1:1 program realizing the necessity in preparing students for a future where technology will be involved in every aspect of their lives.

This digital learning environment prepares students for the challenges of college and careers which requires the creation of dynamic learning environments that support creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. Each member of the faculty will determine how they will incorporate device usage into their curriculum.

(Policy #6160.2) Stafford offers a Device Protection Plan (referred to as DPP) to all families within the district. The purpose of the DPP is to protect Stafford Public Schools Picture of a Chromebook in it's protective case, and prevent families from accumulating debt due to accidental damage or theft of school-issued devices. A separate form must be completed for each device covered; one form per student. If coverage is not elected in this program, the device replacement and/or damage costs are the responsibility of the family.

At the start of the school year, devices will be distributed to all students enrolled in Stafford Public Schools system as follows upon receipt of appropriate signed documentation:

Pre-K through 1st Grade – will receive an iPad (Devices are kept in classroom)

2nd Grade through 12th Grade – will receive a Chromebook (Devices are kept in classroom for grades 2 through 5)
