Special Education ESY and Budget Update

Hello ​Stafford Community-

Following the most recent $150,000 budget reduction, several questions have been raised regarding the potential impact on special education services. The attached letter provides additional explanation about this decision and outlines why this reduction will not affect services provided to students.

This adjustment was made possible through the continued, diligent work of our Director of Pupil Services in managing out-of-district (OOD) special education costs. Because special education programming and student needs are continuously monitored throughout the year, opportunities to more accurately project expenditures emerged during the budget approval process, allowing for this reduction without impacting student services.
